In 2020 I carried out background research for Guy Cassiers most recent theatre production: April. The play focusses on the first Gulf War in which Iraq invades Kuwait. Because of my experience as an Arabist, part of the background research was trusted to me. Based on my research the creators of the play expanded their understanding of the Arabic perception of the conflict their play revolves around. I also gathered the Arabic historical visual material that will be used during the performance of the play.
