In July 2022 my first translation of a novel will appear at publishing house Orlando. Waar de wind huist (The wind’s abode) is the latest novel of Syrian writer and journalist Samar Yazbek. Yazbek received various awards for her writing and her novel The blue pen was shortlisted for the Prix Femina and was one of the five finalists of the National Book Award. Together with Lore Baeten I translated Yazbek’s latest novel Waar de wind huist from Arabic to Dutch.
